Welcome to POEM 2008, Wuhan!
It is our great pleasure to invite you to attend Photonics and OptoElectronics Meetings (POEM), which will be held on Nov 24-27, 2008 in “the homeland of white cloud and yellow crane”, Wuhan, China. POEM 2008 will be organized in conjunction with the 8th International Symposium on Optical Storage /2008 International Workshop on Information Data Storage--ISOS/IWIDS 2008 and the International Conference on Photonics and Imaging in Biology and Medicine(PIBM 2008). It will be one of the most comprehensive events to provide an outstanding opportunity to share the latest information with the international experts in this field. The conference is organized by Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics, Chinese Optical Society, IEEE/LEOS, The State Optoelectronic & Information Industry Base of China, etc. By combining all the efforts from these organizers, POEM 2008 is going to make its debut with great success.

The 4-day conference will present a plenary session and paralleled sessions covering a broad range of high-interest topics in which prominent experts and executives of the world will be invited to give their presentations. It is intended to foster state-of-the-art research in the field of the photonics and optoelectronics.

Wuhan, one of the major economic and industrial cities in China, is situated at the confluence of the Yangtze River and its greatest branch, with many unique sights scattered around its huge metropolis including East Lake, Yellow Crane Tower, Guiyuan Temple, Hubei Provincial Museum and Three gorges, etc. We are sure you will enjoy your stay in Wuhan.

Abstract Submission

The abstracts submitted to the conference will be peer reviewed by our Technical Program Committee and the proceedings will be published by SPIE and recommended to Engineering Index (EI). Acceptance will be based primarily on originality, significance and quality of contribution.

*Selected papers will be published in Frontiers of Optoelectronics in China (Springer) after the normal procedure of peer-review. Participants willing to submit papers to the journal should notify the organizing committee upon submission.

1. Only the original paper should be submitted.
2. Indicate which session covers the paper
3. With all contact information including full names, affiliations, phone numbers, addresses, e-mails, etc.
4. Abstract should be prepared within the scope or relevant scope listed above.
5. Submit the abstract of around 500 words.
