报告摘要 ：
Lasers and accelerators have very similar development history in generating higher power beam and more precise controls and measurements. The marriage of the two technologies is producing exciting opportunities for new generation of light sources and new generation of accelerators. In this talk, a review is given research progress on accelerator related laser at the Advanced Photon Source, Argonne National Laboratory, including electron beam diagnostics, free electron laser characterization, laser-beam interaction and laser pulse shaping for photoemission guns.  

报告人及美国Argonne国家实验室简介：
Yuelin Li博士是美国Argonne国家实验室高级研究员。他长期从事激光科学与技术、激光与物质相互作用的研究工作，在超强超快激光技术、短波长相干光源开展了具有国际影响的独创性研究工作。近年来在Physical Review Letters, Applied Physics Letters, Optics Letters, Physical Review E等国际物理和光学顶级或权威期刊上发表了70余篇论文，同时他还是《光学快报》（Optics Letters）和《光学工程》（Optical Engineering）的特约审稿人，以及美国物理学会成员。

美国Argonne国家实验室（Argonne National Laboratory，简称ANL）是美国政府最老和最大的科学与工程研究实验室之一——在美国中西部为最大。ANL是1946年特许成立的美国第一个国家实验室，也是美国能源部所属最大的研究中心之一。今天，阿贡有雇员2900名，包括大约1000名科学家和工程师，其中约600人具有博士学位。阿贡的运行经费约为4.75亿美元，支持200多个研究项目，从原子核研究到全球气候变化研究。1990以来，ANL曾与600多家公司、无数的联邦政府部门以及其他组织一道工作。
