International Symposium on Micronano Optoelectronics Technology held at WNLO

On Sep 8-9 2006, a symposium entitled the Key Micronano Optoelectronics Devices in Optical Communications was held in Room A301 of Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics (WNLO) to promote the academic exchanges among the experts and professors at home and abroad in the field of optoelectronics.
Dr. Tingye Li, world-known expert in optical communications, Dr. Connie Chang-Hasnain, professor from University of California, Berkeley, Dr. Chung-En Zah from Coring Inc, USA, Zhao Zishen, member of Chinese academy of Sciences from Wuhan Institute of Post and Communications and Liu Wen, assistant chief engineer were invited to present on the symposium and gave their lectures. The assistant director of WNLO Zhiping Zhou hosted the conference and the director Chaohui Ye made opening address and wishes fully success of the symposium.

At the beginning of the symposium, Dr. Tingye Li gave his report on current state-of-the-art research initiatives and future trend of the development of Optoelectronics on the international academic frontier, acknowledging the world's latest development of the discipline. Later on, the experts made their report respectively.

It is said the main aim of experts’ visit to Wuhan is to have pre-observation and further understanding on current state of preparation for APOC 2007 (Asia-Pacific Optical Communications)to be organized by WNLO.
