摘 要:
The organic solar cell is an excellent alternative for the commercial silicon solar cell due to its low cost and environmental impacts. However, comparing with its inorganic counterpart, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of organic solar cell suffer from a larger open circuit voltage (VOC) loss. I will present the relationship between this VOC loss and charge-transfer state energy, electronic coupling, and spatial density of charge-transfer states in a series of polymer/fullerene solar cells. I will show that the high spatial density of charge-transfer state is the major reason for the experimental VOC loss.
CV of Invited Speaker:
Jie Zhang received his PhD degree in Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2013. After working in Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory as a visiting scientist, he joined Gingerlab in Department of Chemistry, University of Washington, as a postdoctoral research associate. His current research interests include the mechanism of carrier generation and recombination in organic solar cell and the dynamic melting properties of photoswitch-modified DNA.
