光子晶体与拓扑光子学专刊
Photonic Crystal and Topological Photonics

前言
光子晶体是一种周期性的介质微结构,正如同固体中晶格对电子的影响,光子晶体可以影响光子的传输态,具有在介观尺度导引和操控光波的能力。最近,随着拓扑绝缘体的发现,基于光子能带结构拓扑性质的拓扑光子学及其应用的研究逐渐深入。为了推动拓扑光子学的研究和基于拓扑结构的光子器件的发展,北京大学的胡小永教授发起了本期光子晶体与拓扑光子学专刊,计划于2020年第1期出版。
Photonics crystals, periodic dielectric microstructures that affect the propagation states of photons just like that ionic lattices affect electrons in solids, possesses the capability of guiding and manipulating light at the mesoscopic scale. More recently, along with the discovery of topological insulators, this field is benefited from applying the ideas of topology to photonic band structures. In order to promote research in the area of topological photonics and development of photonic devices based on topological features, Prof. Xiaoyong Hu (Peking University, China) are planning to produce a special issue on photonic crystal and topological photonics, expected to be published in the first issue of Frontiers of Optoelectronics in 2020.

This special issue will cover the most recent progress in physics, materials, structures, and applications of photonic devices based on photonic crystals with topological features. The topics include, but are not limited to:

•非厄米拓扑光子学 non-Hermitian topological photonics
•旋磁光子晶体 gyromagnetic photonic crystals

Frontiers of Optoelectronics (FOE) is one of the international academic journals in the “Frontiers” serials supervised by the Chinese Ministry of Education. The editors-in-chief are Academician Qihuang Gong from Peking University and Prof. Xinliang Zhang from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
FOE journal aims at introducing the most recent research results and the cutting edge improvements in the area of photonics and optoelectronics. It is dedicated to be an important information platform for rapid communication and exchange between researchers in the related areas. It is sponsored by Higher Education Press of China, Huazhong University of Science & Technology and the Chinese Optical Society, and organized by Wuhan National Lab for Optoelectronics.
