Dear Postgraduates,

To honor outstanding international students, the university has decided to select and award HUST outstanding Individual International Student starting from the academic year of 2017-2018. The notice is hereby announced as follows:

HUST Outstanding Volunteer

2. Basic Qualifications

a) HUST registered degree students;

b) Good discipline record;

c) Honest, devoted to university and friendly to China;

d) No course-failing record;

e) No academic misconduct；

f) No violation to registration regulations;

g) No record of punishment and never undermine the university’s reputation.

3. Other Essential Qualifications

3.1 Essential Qualification for Academic Excellence Award

a) Good GPA (marks of average 80 and above);

b) Strong ability of research and innovative spirit. Having published at least one paper on B level and above journals. The important journals must be affirmed according to the journals listed by the university.

[Papers used before cannot be used again for application. Student should be the first author (Second is accepted only if the supervisor is the first author).The author’s university must be Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The paper can only be used after it is officially published.]

3.2 Essential Qualification for Outstanding Student Cadre

a) Good GPA (marks of average 70 and above)

b) Implement the assignments by the university earnestly and playing a leading role in university assignments and activities..

c) Serve other students actively; excellent with organization, execution and leadership skills; strong sense of team honor;

d) Serve as the student organization leader /School or ISO assistant for over one year.

3.3 Essential Qualification for Outstanding Volunteer

a) Actively participate in public benefit activities organized by school or other relevant units for a year or above;

b) Awarded in the public service activities.

4. Selection Procedure

Complete the < hust outstanding international student (graduate) applicant form> (must be printed in one page); prepare the necessary materials and get signed by the supervisor.

Submit the application form to your school academic coordinator.

Qualification checked and recommended by the school.

Get evaluated by the university selection committee.

Decision shall be announced by the university in December 2018 and Certificate of Honors shall be granted upon the international students honors granting ceremony.

5. Important Matters to Follow

Students must submit the application form, academic transcript and necessary supporting materials to their school coordinator before the deadline of November 19, 2018. Application beyond the deadline shall not be considered.

Application documents must be true and valid. Once falsifications are found, the university will seriously deal with it and abolish the honorary titles and prizes of relevant people.

Papers published must be signed and the journal level must be classified clearly by the supervisor and also sealed by the school before it is accepted by the university.

The < hust outstanding international student (postgraduate) applicant form> will be kept in the university archive.

All outstanding individuals will receive the certificates of honors. Academic Excellence Award winners will enjoy an additional 3000 RMB reward.

关于评选表彰华中科技大学2017-2018学年

国际学生（研究生）先进个人的通知

全校各院系、全体国际学生（研究生）：

为树立我校国际学生先进典型，依据《华中科技大学国际学生（研究生）先进个人评选办法》（校外〔2016〕25号）的规定，学校拟对在学习、科研、服务、志愿活动等方面取得优异成绩和做出突出贡献的国际学生（研究生）进行表彰和奖励。

现将有关评选表彰事宜通知如下：

一、评选荣誉类别

1. 学业优秀奖；

2. 优秀学生干部；

3. 优秀志愿者。

二、参评基本条件

获得任何一项荣誉称号必须同时符合以下基本条件：

1. 全日制在校学习国际学生（研究生）；

2. 严格遵守中国的法律法规和学校的各项规章制度，无违法违纪记录；

3. 明礼诚信，热爱学校，知华友华；

4. 勤奋学习，学风端正，成绩优良，无课程不及格；

5. 科研研究态度端正，无学术不端行为；

6. 每学期按时缴纳学费并完成注册，无不良纪录；

7. 未受到过任何处分或处罚，未损害学校声誉。

三、参评具体条件

参见《华中科技大学国际学生（研究生）先进个人评选办法》的具体规定。

（一）获得学业优秀奖荣誉称号的必须同时符合以下条件：

1. 学习成绩优良，学位课程加权平均成绩不低于80分；

2. 有较强的科研能力和创新精神，在国际、国内重要学术刊物上发表B类论文1篇及以上。

重要期刊按照《华中科技大学期刊分类办法》（校人〔2008〕28号文）确定的期刊认定。学生所发表的论文必须是以华中科技大学为第一署名单位，以申请人为第一作者（与导师共同发表的论文，导师为第一作者，申请人可为第二作者）。论文见刊以后方可使用。

论文使用后不可再重复使用。超过规定申请时间没有提交申请的，当学年不予受理，但可以在下一次评优时使用。学生毕业前没有使用的论文不可再用于申请奖励。

（二）获优秀学生干部荣誉称号的必须同时符合以下条件：

1. 学习刻苦，成绩良好，学位课程加权平均成绩不低于70分；

2. 认真落实学校和国际学生教育管理主管部门的工作要求，在各项工作和活动中起到模范带头作用；

3. 积极为同学们服务，有较强的领导力、执行力和组织力，集体荣誉感强；

4. 担任学生干部一学年及以上。

（三）获得优秀志愿者荣誉称号的应符合以下条件：

1. 长期积极参加学校以及其他相关单位组织的社会公益活动，有奉献精神，不怕困难；

2. 在公益活动中获得肯定或表扬。

四、评选流程

1. 个人申请：即日起，符合条件的国际学生可填写《华中科技大学国际学生（研究生）先进个人申请审批表》并准备辅助证明材料，经导师审核推荐后于11月19日前将申请材料交至本院系国际学生教育工作负责人。

2. 导师推荐：导师严格审核学生的申请，对符合条件且无不良表现的学生如实予以推荐。

如学生申请“学业优秀奖”，其提交的论文应由导师签字明确刊物的级别并加盖有院系公章。

3. 院系评审：各院系受理学生的申请材料后，应综合考虑学生的在校表现、成绩和科研能力以及学生导师推荐意见，确定候选人，于11月23日前将本院系推荐的学生申请材料汇总后上报国际教育学院。

4.学校审批：国际教育学院按照规定评审并公示后，报学校审批。

五、表彰奖励

1. 学校将安排时间集中对获得荣誉称号的国际学生进行表彰；

2.《华中科技大学国际学生（研究生）先进个人申请审批表》载入学生个人档案；

3. 对“学业优秀奖”获得者一次性发放3000元奖励及荣誉证书；对其他荣誉获得者，发放荣誉证书。

六、评选要求

各单位应按照学校《华中科技大学国际学生（研究生）先进个人评选办法（试行）》的要求，遵循公平、公开、公正的原则，做到实事求是、好中选优，严格把关，认真完成评优工作，真正达到树立国际学生先进典型、促进国际学生全面发展、推动本院系国际学生教育发展的目标。

七、其他注意事项

1. 国际学生（研究生）先进个人的申请材料必须真实有效。一旦发现弄虚作假，学校将严肃处理，撤销相关人员所获的荣誉称号和奖励。

2. 面向学生的英文版本通知由国际教育学院另行公布。
